HOD's Message

Greetings from the Subbaiah Institute of Dental Sciences' Department of Oral Pathology.

Our College & Hospital, nestled in verdant surroundings, provides an exceptional clinical care, research, and instruction setting.

Our department is tasked with improving patient care by applying evidence-based oral pathology practices, all the while seeking a deeper knowledge of the underlying condition through necessary studies. Dental Anatomy with Oral Histology, Oral Pathology, and Forensic Odontology are the three main thrust areas of teaching and research that the department primarily addresses.

During the first three years, our faculty members instruct and coach dental undergraduates. Additionally, we mentor students in our department during a two-week rotational internship to increase their familiarity with the field of oral pathology and its significant influence on clinical care, as well as forensic dentistry and its influence on crime and a variety of legal issues in society.

Our faculty provide an investigative environment for the training of dental students in many areas ranging from Oral Cancer & Precancer, Odontogenic Pathology to Forensic Odontology. The Department is pleased to announce that it is currently in the process of securing many funds for scientific research in the fields of forensic dentistry and oral cancer from several State and federal organisations.

Also, our department faculties are undergoing meticulous training for education methodology in RAATI and few have become resource person for the same.
The Department is unique since it has actively collaborated in the field of forensic dentistry with numerous State Government entities.

We also offer a special one-week training programme and observer ship at the cutting-edge hospital and Forensic medicine.
